  Some History & Stories

Built in the 18th century, it's said to have its fair share of ghosts including that of a daughter who took her own life to escape a cruel father.

It also had a reputation at one time as a hideaway for extra-marital liaisons because of its remoteness.

The Beehive Inn, between Earsdon and Seaton Sluice is named in the Campaign for Real Ale North East Regional Inventory - the region's first listing of heritage pubs with preserved historical interiors. The Grade II listed pub in Hartley Lane is among 49 chosen as having endangered interiors.

Our Strawberries & Cream Room (photo taken May 09, set up for a Private Party)
